 Sky Valley Web Design can create custom graphics for your web site. Graphics should be visually pleasing and give a common look and feel to all your pages. They can make a bold statement, or be very subtle. They can also be reused, making subsequent pages load faster. We use Paint Shop Pro to design all custom graphics. Done properly, there should be very little performance hit.

Fast To Load...

 Next time you visit a site that takes forever to load, try this. Right click on the images and graphic elements used on the page, and then click on properties. Look at the size of the files used. Custom graphics on the page shouldn't total more then 20-30 kilobytes. Pictures should be no more than 10-30 kilobytes each, but often a 5 KB image is more than adequate. There shouldn't be too many pictures on each page. Indeed, no page should be too long, but quite surprisingly, some sites owned by multi-million dollar companies take incredibly long times to load. At this point in time, web site design should be done making the assumption that all visitors will be using nothing faster than a 56 kbps modem to connect.
